School and Couponing do not mix...

For those that know me know that I am currently attending school and school and couponing are difficult to do at the same time. I am finding myself neglecting my homework to check out where the next big deal is. So I have a plan. 1 hour of homework FIRST then I can spend time checking out the deals. Thank goodness I have next week until the 28th off then I start my next class. Did I mention that after this class is over, I will have my associates degree.... GO ME....  I am working on a deal at Target. For those that picked up the BOGO coupon for Suave lotion, you can stack that with the 75 cents off 1 Target coupon and a mfr coupon. Also, there are Caress body wash mfr coupons for 75 cents off and a Target coupon for a $1 off.

Good Luck and Happy Coupon,
Mel

A little humor from our June 14th. Bi-Lo trip

Mel and I are standing in isle four of the store.. Mel is a little bit ahead of me looking at mustard.. When all of a sudden I hear her yell… “MONEY MAKERRRR!”… when I look over at her she is holding up this bottle of mustard as if it was a shinny golden trophy for crossing first through a race finish line.. ! Funny thing is it didn’t even phase me that she had yelled this out pretty loud and standing there holding up that bottle of mustard, I was excited too!… at that moment I realized we both had crossed over into our own personal coupon insanity. !!!!!

It feels great to be the kind of crazy that will not put you in a straight jacket.. Well it might if someone had tried to grabbed those 2 bottles of trophy mustards from her.. There might have been a Jerry Springer fight in isle four!

Oh how I love our new money making hobby!

It is such a great feeling to save 65%.....

Thank you BI-LO for your type-O…

Thank you BI-LO for your type-O…

What a fun and amazing time Mel and I had tonight saving money….
BI-Lo made a type-o and had to honor their mistake of having to double coupons up to .99 cents…
Mel happened to catch this mistake.. (great eye Mel)… and boy did we cash in!

My Couponing tonight… $186.00 Worth of groceries, spent $65.95 and SAVED $$$$$$ 120.78 !!!

Watch those papers!… have your coupons ready!… and watch how people look at you pushing your buggy around with ‎28 rice/pasta, 2 instant potatoes, 2-12pk Diet cheerwine, 1 gallon tea, 24 large Ragu pasta sauce, 2 boxes cereal, 6 banquet meals, 4 Hormel meals, 2 pkgs ballpark hotdogs, 1 butterball smoked sausage, 2-Tabasco Sause,Franks Chili Sauce…

But most of all pay attention to the woman or man behind you that I am sure was huffing and puffing under their breath because they are behind not one but TWO coupon freaks.. (yes we used the same register..) .. But glance over and look at their face when they see what you had to pay at the end.. … aahhh its priceless! You walk out of that store with a huge smile and a since of satisfaction that WE did not pay full price for anything!!!!
I got 75 items and paid what???.. .88 cents per item if you average it out..??!

Helping Others

Hello everyone its Tina… I am just now crawling out from underneath my stack of coupons to blog.
I use to be into coupons, and for some odd reason I stopped.. So now I am back in the game. I must say it helps having my sidekick Mel helping and using coupons as well.

It is a lot easier having two women scheming the best deals!!!

I think one of the number one key things you should utilize for saving the most money is communication!
If  you are some where and you see an item on sale..let someone know!

Couponing should not only be about helping your family save money, it should also be about helping others save money.
If you see that great item… call someone, text them, email them etc…. some how get the word out!

If you don’t use those coupons give them away! Find someone that can use them!

Couponing should include these 3 elements
1: Saving Money
2: Helping others
3: Having fun
Happy Couponing
Tina

Great Deals from CVS

Getting great deals at CVS, although frustrating, can be done. Tina and I racked up on 2 Oral B pulsar toothbrushes, 2 Crest ProHealth mouthwash, 2 Colgate Max toothpaste, 1 Ban deodorant, 2 John Frieda products, 3 Dawn dish washing liquid, and 1 headache medicine for under $5 out of pocket (OOP). We did this 4 separate times and the crazy thing is I did not pay attention to the toothbrushes I was stealing (at least that is what it felt like) and got almost all the same color. Lesson #1 pay attention to details of products even if you are getting them for free. Thank you Kayla at the Decatur Pike store for all your patience and understanding for us couponers.
Deals coming up this week, great deal at Walgreen's. Bayer Advanced is on sale for $3.00 and if you were a smart couponer and picked up your Sunday paper, you received a $2.00/1 coupon and a mail-in rebate. You will receive $1.00 in register rewards (RR) for your next purchase. So you will pay $1 and receive $1 in register rewards, making this item free. Then you will mail in the rebate, making this a $1 money maker!!!!!!!!
Blistex for men is on sale for $2 and you will get back $2 in (RR) for your next purchase making this a free item. There are many good deals at Walgreen's this week, just have fun and pay attention.

Good luck and happy couponing,

Mel

Great Target Deal

I love to find a great deal on something and then have a good amount of coupons to back it up. Yesterday while at Target to check out some deals, I noticed that Target had Wishbone salad dressing for $1.09 a bottle and I had a coupon for $1 off each bottle. I bought 24 (all the coupons I had) bottles of salad dressing for $2.16. I get all warm and fuzzy when I come across such a good deal. Buy the way, Target's in store coupons say that you can only use 1 in-store per transaction. This is not true you can use as many in-store coupons as you want during each transaction as long as you have enough product to cover the amount of coupons you have.

After couponing last week, I found out something about myself. I can be somewhat of a WITCH when I am couponing. I get very upset when people talk to me when I am concentrating on the best deal. I do not like for someone to keep saying, such and such is on sale do you have a coupon. I just wanna scream and tell them to shut up. Oh wait I do yell and scream and tell them to shut up. LOL

Yesterday, I also bought me a new coupon binder. A really neat, hot pink 3 inch binder and it is already full but I love it. I have got me deals all ready for tomorrow, well a few of them anyways.

For those that do not know, there are several coupon sites to print coupons. The key thing is to remember that you only get 2 prints per computer (I have 4 computers going), Targets coupons can be copied but only from the original and it is ILLEGAL to make copies of manufacturer coupons. Getting something for free is not worth going to jail.

The couponing sites are:

coupons.com
couponsuzy.com
grocery.coupon.com

You should also got to manufacturer websites to get coupons.

I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Good luck and happy couponing,

Mel

Getting Started With Coupons

First of all, START SMALL! If you are new to the coupon world don't do like I did and try to start with all and every coupon I got my hands on. I was overwhelmed very quickly. Next, you do not have to clip every coupon nor do you need to print every coupon. When I say start small what I mean is find one or two good deals and do them. Do not try to do all the deals when you first start. It will give you an ulcer. No I am teasing but trust me when I say that your stomach will turn and feel as if it is tied in knots.

If you are addicted to watching EXTREME COUPONING on TLC as I am, there is one thing you must remember before thinking you will go out there and get $1000 worth of merchandise for free, they are ONLY buying items they are getting free or getting paid to take out of the store and they are buying lots of it. If that is the route you want to go then go for it. I personally do not want 400 bottles of power aid or ketchup.

Through this blog I am planning to share my experiences with couponing along with my cousin, Tina. Tina and I are doing this together. We get together one night a week and go over the deals each of us have found and plan our shopping trip for Saturday. She and I also do seperate deals and I will share them here also.

Good luck and Happy Couponing,
Mel
